Description
A very good quality and thoroughly original mid-18th century George II period Red Walnut KNEEHOLE DRESSING CHEST. Below the solid top, with its moulded edges and rounded corners, is a long oak-lined drawer, with six further smaller drawers flanking the central kneehole. To this is another frieze drawer whilst at the back is the locking central cupboard with an inner shelf. It is raised on original bracket feet and all the locks, hinges, escutcheons and pierced brass handles are original. Measurements: 38ins wide; 18.5ins deep (86 x 47cms)
