George III Mahogany Moon Dial Longcase Clock
This is a lovely original George III 8 Day longcase clock by James Barwise of Cockermouth, Cumberland. He is listed as working there in the late 18th Century. The good quality case is in beautifully figured mahogany and is in good original, unrestored condition. It has lots of features that lift it above the average clock of this type. The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive painted first period 'Wilson' dial. It has a date dial and a moon phase indicator to the arch. The movement has just been professionally serviced and has all features working as they should. It is keeping good time and is guaranteed for 12 months.
Cross Antiques has clarified that the George III Mahogany Moon Dial Longcase Clock (LA79811) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1800
