REF: LA74749
Sold
Description
A handsome late 18th Cent longcase clock by William New of Tewksbury. The case is in oak and is in good unrestored condition, it has retained its original finish and is a lovely colour. The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive 1st Period Wilson Dial (signed on the false plate). James Wilson is regarded as one of the finest dial maker of the period. It has an unusual centre date handa and moon phase indicator to the arch. The case is in good unrestored condition but does have a couple of minor chips to the top of the trunk door.
The movement looks to have been recently serviced and is in excellent working condition and keeping good time.
