George III Style Beech Wing Back Armchair An early 20th century George III style wing back armchair, well-proportioned and full of character. Crafted in beech, the chair rests on cabriole front legs with a turned stretchered base, reflecting the elegance of the period style. Later upholstered in a soft blue fabric, the chair shows some wear, with fraying at the back where the arms meet the rear. Signs of tacks suggest a previous attempt to keep the fabric tight against the frame (see photographs for details). Despite these imperfections, this is a wonderfully shaped chair with plenty of charm. It can be enjoyed as it stands, or offers excellent potential as a restoration or reupholstery project to bring it back to its full glory.
