Description
A handsome antique chest of drawers c1820 made from beautifully figured flame mahogany, standing on bracket feet.
This chest of drawers has been made using some very well figured mahogany, and this along with it’s nicely shaped bracket feet, oak drawer linings and subtle detailed moulding to the top give it the feel of a fine quality piece of furniture. It is also very heavy for its size! It has brass oval plate handles, which aren’t original but have certainly been on it a long time and suit it well. The top left hand drawer has the initials VF carved into it. All the drawers have their locks present, but there is no key.

condition
condition
There are some expansions splits in the veneer on the top (please see the photos). The drawers locks must have been stuck in the locked position at some point as there is damage above each lock where it has scraped the frame. There are a few minor surface marks and areas of wear in accordance with age and use, but generally the condition is very good.
