George Washington Jack Rare Aesthetic Movement Low Back Sideboard

George Jack was a British /american Arts & Crafts designer and architect that was born in America on Long Island, New York, but he grew up and trained in Scotland, before moving south to join furniture designer Philip Webb who was a contemparary of William Morris who he designed for and also Gillows of Lancaster. On offer is this extremely fine quality mahogany low sideboard cabinet of unusual form. The workmanship is outstanding throughtout. The brass hardware fitted is in the Christopher Dresser design styles, the top superstructure is fitted with unusual astral glazed bevelled glass side cabinets hints of japonisme, supported by a finely carved floral frieze. The base consructed has an unusual configuration of drawers and cupboards. It is supported on finely carved low turned legs.
