A particularly attractive Georgian golden oak cabinet on chest dating to around 1800, retaining its original turned mahogany knobs and displaying a warm, mellow colour throughout. The upper section features a pair of fielded panel cupboard doors opening to reveal a spacious shelved interior, ideal for storing books, linen or household items. Below are six graduated drawers arranged as three short drawers over two half-width drawers and a full-width bottom drawer, all fitted with the original turned mahogany knobs. A distinctive decorative inlaid frieze separates the cabinet from the chest, while the whole stands beneath a generous moulded cornice on neatly shaped bracket feet. Constructed in beautifully figured golden oak with pine-lined drawers and excellent colour, this is an honest, well-proportioned country piece offering plenty of practical storage.
