Description
A fine George III period mahogany washstand, inlaid with boxwood stringing and displaying a warm, well-developed patina. The folding top opens to reveal an inset, retractable mirror and a fitted interior. Below lies a tambour-fronted section, shaped apron, and pull-out commode compartment, all supported on elegant square chamfered legs. The piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and discreet utility characteristic of late 18th-century English furniture design. Compact and well-proportioned, this washstand would make a handsome addition to both period and contemporary interiors, serving equally well as a bedside, occasional, or decorative piece.
