Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers – Three Over Three

A handsome Georgian chest of drawers of classic three-over-three configuration, offering six drawers in total. Well proportioned and practical, with attractive brass handles and standing on four bracket feet. The chest displays a rich, varied colour throughout, with particularly interesting grain and tonal variation to the drawer fronts, giving it a distinctive and characterful appearance. The top shows areas of discolouration, consistent with age and use, but remains perfectly serviceable and in keeping with the piece. All drawers run well. There is a small chip to the veneer on the right-hand front edge between the lower drawers; this does not affect use. The sides are generally good with only minor marks. There is a break to the right-hand top moulding, as shown in the photographs. The bracket feet have been cut down at some point in the past; however, the chest stands firm and level with no issues to stability. There are signs of historic woodworm, which has been fully treated and is no longer active. A solid, usable Georgian chest with plenty of honest age-related character.
