Description
A handsome antique Georgian mahogany open armchair or desk chair. In a Chippendale influenced design the carved back splat above a drop in seat standing on square chamfered legs united by cross stretchers. It has curved arm rests and a comfortable seat. It has been newly re-covered over the existing foam seat. This chair would have started life as a single chair – the arms having been added at a later date to create a carver chair. There are visible screws at the back behind the arms. Nonetheless and attractive and functional piece.

Solid and sturdy with wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly recovered. This chair would have started life as a single chair – the arms having been added at a later date. This is visible in the screw holes from the back.
