Description
This is an attractive George III silver teapot stand with muli-reeded rim and set on four simple cabriole legs. Bright cut engraved decoration in friezes around the outside and a laurel wreath to the centre framing an interesting family crest with a shield including a winged gryphon and three axes and surmounted by a hippocampus. The family motto "Vive Ut Simper Vivas" runs in a scroll below. Hallmarked London 1803, makers Alice & George Burrows II.
