Georgian Tavern Wall Clock Green Bristol
An English Regency period Tavern wall clock. A 22" wooden dial with brass counterbalanced hands. A well proportioned mahogany case with the original side carvings. An opening trunk door and base with twin side doors behind the dial. An 8-day duration mechanism, single weight driven. The original pendulum and lovely original shaped weight. The case and dial have not been over restored through the years and is presented in 'aged condition'. Thomas Green of Bristol worked at Chapel Row, Long Rooms, Hotwells and Portland Place from 1771-1824. Illustrations are shown of longcase and bracket clocks in A J Moores' 'Bristol Clockmakers' book. Interestingly it states he also worked in All Saints Lane next door to the Rummer Tavern.
