Description
A superb German silver Jugendstil pendant necklace. The oval openwork frame is decorated with flowers and leaves. There are two amethyst cabochons and a mother-of-pearl, all in bezel settings. Marked to the reverse with the maker's mark and 830, this superior piece was created by Theodor Herbstrith of Pforzheim.
This great designer's work is typified by his naturalistic themes, often featuring blossoms, fruits and ears of corn and the high quality finish render examples desirable by collectors of quality Scandinavian jewellery. Supplied with a good gauge belcher chain, this wonderful piece is eye-catching and timeless.
