This is a wonderful handwoven antique Kirman carpet dating from around 1930. The soft woollen carpet is beautifully drawn and woven from the finest kork wool. It has a classic Kirman design, with arching boughs of colourful pastel blooms throughout the warm vanilla field all enclosed by multiple flower filled borders with boteh and scrolling vines. The design is most pleasing and the colour palette very easy to live with, featuring corals and blues, indigo and a very nice sage green. This is a large room size carpet in excellent clean condition throughout and no real wear. As such, it is an incredibly rare find.
