Good Antique Saroukh Carpet

This is a good example of a very pretty Saroukh carpet dating from around 1910. With a warm coral ground colour the carpet features a central palmette medallion in light blue, mid blue and indigo and this is surrounded by stylised floral and leaf designs in the same shades. With further floral motifs to the indigo borders framing the carpet it is classic Saroukh design. It has a nice soft handle and is in excellent condition throughout. A very special addition to any room this measures 201cms by 135cms.
