Gordon Russell Table & Four Chairs

A lovely oak extending table and four chairs, by renown furniture designer Gordon Russell. The table has simple and elegant lines, with square tapering legs, and nicely chamfered edges. The top has beautiful quarter-sawn oak to reveal the striking medullary rays, and is in excellent condition with just a slight variation in colour to the central leaf. All four chairs are in good condition with just light wear consitent with age, and have been newly upholstered in a linen-style fabric. Both the table and chairs carry the maker’s label. Gordon Russell was an important designer and maker for much of the 20th Century, and his work is celebrated at The Gordon Russell Design Museum in Broadway.
