Gorham Sterling Silver Rocking Desk Blotter

A superb Sterling silver rocking desk blotter. The superb repoussé design features flowers and leaves. The baluster shaped handle has the original engraved initials and unscrews to allow the blotting paper to be replaced. The blotter body is shaped fruit wood. Gorham Manufacturing Co. were a hugely important name in American silver, often supplying high quality items for Tiffany & Co and with an outlet in the UK. A wonderful antique piece with a practical use.
