Hand Carved Breton Table Lamps Wooden Peasant Figures

These are an interesting pair of table lamps with hand-carved wooden Breton figures of Peasants mounted on to oak bases. Each of the peasant figures representing a man and woman are superbly carved, a little grotesque but I find them most interesting. Carved with great detail in the typical Breton style, they carry on their backs baskets for working in the fields. At the back of each figures is a brass tube fixed to the base with bulb holder. The lamps have been rewired with an old gold modern silk covered wire that mimics that of the early part of 20th century and come with modern switched bulb holders, 3 amp fused plugs and fully pat tested so will be ready for for use in their new surroundings.
