Hand Woven Marsh Arab Rug

This is a really colourful and characterful hand woven woollen rug from Marsh Arab area in Southern Iraq dating from the mid to late 20th Century. The soft woollen flat weave rug is constructed from two separate narrow weavings which are then joined to create a larger rug. The geometric design is quirky and interesting with and both floral and animal motifs and a fabulously varied colour palette. There are tassels at either end. This carpet is in excellent order with no wear and would bring great colour and warmth to any room. It has brass rings attached to the back at one end so could easily be used as an interesting wall hanging. This measures 267 cms by 152 cms UK delivery is included.
