Persian Baluch rug with a tiled design in the centre of a rectangular panel. Baluchi carpets were made by the Baluch nomads and they lived near the borders of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Made with wool and possibly goat hair in some rugs. The centre rectangular panel has five tiles with inner borders and five symbols. The outer border is framed with five varying borders displaying a variety of symbols and patterns. Gorgeous deep red ground that pops out at you with a mix of black and the odd green, terracotta and lilac flower. The tassels on the ends are very short. Period: Mid 20th Century Material: Wool Approx. Dimensions (cm): 112 wide x 15 high x 206 deep Condition: Good condition commensurate with its age. Some wear in areas and edges, but overall a very nice rug.
