We have a particular interest in the Arts and Crafts movement, and much of our stock dates to this era. We’ve published several books on antiques, which are available via Amazon.
We have a large dealers unit at Carlton Fine Arts and Antiques Centre in Salts Mill, Saltaire, West Yorkshire, and we stand at fine arts and antiques fairs in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Description
We have for sale a truly lovely heavy Arts & Crafts antique Dresser inspired copper and brass tankard.
The tankard consists of a planished truncated conical body extending to a very Christopher Dresser style angled handle with a tactile shaped brass thumb rest to the top and a brass terminal to the base. The base of the tankard is also formed from brass, a feature that was obviously designed to make that base hard wearing. Judging by the Dresser inspired design the tankard probably dates to around 1900. This is a very well engineered tankard, but caries no makers mark.

The tankard is 5.25 (13.3cm) inches high, has a diameter to the base of 3.5 inches (8.9cm) and a width to the base of about 5.5 inches (14cm) including the handle.

Penrose Antiques Ltd has clarified that the Heavy Arts & Crafts Planished Copper Tankard (LA468589) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1900
condition
The tankard is in a very good antique condition although it has a few scratches to upper rim near the handle. These marks are visible in the first image.
