A Georgian twin fusee bracket/table clock. An elegant, ebonised arched top case of good proportions. The case front has brass edging to the dial and standing on brass ball feet. Brass fretwork to the case sides with silk backing. An arched painted dial signed 'HY. RUSSELL LONDON' with a strike/silent in the arch. A rarer feature of a third hand for the days of the month shown on the inner section from 1 to 31. A fine quality, twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. A beautifully engraved backplate to the mechanism signed Russell London within a cartouche. A pull repeat to the side. A glass back door showing the mechanism. The original pendulum transportation lock and a finer quality pendulum with accurate adjustments on the scale. Circa 1815.
The dial has the original finish which is just how most collectors prefer, the inner date section makes it a fine and more desirable example. It has a later, tailor made wall bracket which can go with the clock should you wish to display on the wall.
