A fine antique Georgian sterling silver meat skewer made by Hester Bateman and hallmarked in London 1781.
It is in very good condition and has been made with a good gauge of silver. Hallmarks are clearly struck and there is a loop handle.
Hester Bateman was the Matriarch of the famous Bateman family of silversmiths and her items are widely collected.
