This is a huge heavy English solid sterling silver serving ladle. It is hallmarked for London 1911 with the maker’s marks being Fh&S Ltd for Francis Higgins & Son Ltd. It has been superbly made to what is termed the Hanoverian Rat Tail pattern, the back of the terminal has been engraved with a lion crest which looks to be that of the Steward Family. A top quality piece.
