Irish Vintage Silver Tara Style Brooch - Patrick Archer, Cork Na/688

This is a vintage silver annular brooch closely following the style of the Tara brooch handmade by Patrick Archer in Cork in Eire in the late 1950s and assayed and hallmarked in Dublin in 1958. Stamped to the rear with "Pa" and "Cork" and has a rollover safety catch. The brooch is circular, except for the pin extension and around 3.2 cm; a small and discrete brooch suitable for lighter materials or for a lapel. Unfortunately it has been cleaned and is now bright and shiny. Interestingly it has engraved to the rear "Roscrea".
