Italian Foot Stool with Caned Top 19th Century

Italian flare and a pegged construction make this a valuable addition to your home. Love the curvaceous X stretchers which are beautifully formed with individual scroll details added to each corner with a tiered roundel in the centre. The legs have an X carved in the section joining the X stretchers and instead of the legs being rounded off, they created individual creases to each section adding more charming detail. The cane was replaced at some point in the past, but remains in very good condition. and no visible wear or damage. Stylish walnut coloured stool that could be left as it is, or you could add an upholstered squab cushion to match the rest of your fabric styling in your home.
