Description
A hammered gold crown from the reign of King James I / VI.
This bears an unusual mintmark with a crescent and plain cross over stamped on one another.
The crescent was used between 1617 - 18 with the plain cross from 1618 - 19 so perhaps an overlap re: minting process.
Slight unevenness in the flan but a decent shield and portrait.
