Description
This is a silver crown from the reign of King James II dated 1688 bearing regnal year QVARTO on the edge lettering.
A pleasing example with some faults shown within the photos.
Presumably through handling there are some lighter areas on the high points as well as the aged patina otherwise.
The edge lettering is clear - there are a couple of knocks to the edges in places.
1. Near the 88 of 1688;
2. Near FRA;
3. Above James II bust;
4. Some marks over the very top of James II wig;
The marks on the edge don’t seem to align with a mount in terms of orientation however I could be wrong.
