Description
A striking Japanese blue and white porcelain shallow bowl, decorated to the centre with an auspicious dragon amid swirling clouds, traditionally associated with strength, protection and good fortune. The interior features a dense diaper ground with small floral reserves, while the exterior carries a continuous border motif in underglaze cobalt blue. Finished with a classic dressed rim and a seal-type mark to the base.
An ideal piece for display in a cabinet, styling on open shelving, or as a characterful serving dish for dry foods.
