This is a wonderful early 18th/late 17th century solid English Oak double gate leg table of large proportions, seating up to 8 people. A very unusual feature is the barley twist stretchers as well as the legs. All very original and with a nice patina. The top is a light evenly sun bleached colour, with marks, fractures and stains as you would expect but all underneath the patina which softens their impact. For a table at over 300 years old it is in remarkable condition, the double gates to each leaf giving great stability. We also stock a good selection of antique country chairs that would go with the table.
