Large Antique Sterling Silver Fruit Knife

This is a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Folding Fruit Knife from the Victorian mid 1800s. It’s a fantastic collector’s item and would be great to use for slicing up pieces of fruit such as apples or pears. It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present. It’s a larger folding fruit knife with a Sterling Silver blade. It has a beautifully shaped Mother of Pearl handle with a blank oval cartouche on one side. The blade folds neatly back into the handle as a pen knife does and it has a very pretty pattern to the back. It was made by Richard Martin and Ebenezer Hall of Martin, Hall and Co. It was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1865 and the maker’s mark and hallmarks are on one side of the blade. Condition It’s in excellent condition with just light scratches and a few dots of tarnish on the silver. The Mother of Pearl has a minuscule chip to an edge on one side but this is barely visible without a magnifying glass. Size It’s a large size fruit knife measuring 15.6cm in length when fully open (6 1/8 inches). When closed it measures 8.8cm (3 1/2 inches).
