Large Brass Bound Camphor Wood Chest

A handsome camphor wood box, this has a lovely aged patina and wear quality to the wood. It will make a great storage piece for any home, particularly for blanket and linen storage, for which the camphor is traditionally a moth deterrent. - Brass corners and bindings. - Inset brass handles at the front to lift the lid. - Iron carrying handles at the side. - Latch locks. - Lovely strong internal smell of camphor. - Clean brass cartouche on lid. - Chain to hold open lid in position. In sturdy condition showing wear consistent with age, the wood having the characterful wear patina and marks expected from long use. The internal locks are missing.
