Exceptionally striking, large French majolica centrepiece bowl made 1960's. Black inverted conical bowl on a ribbed circular foot with striking design in amber and white. The bowl's body is of "Grès Flammé" (flammed or fired sandstone). From the studio pottery "Du Petit Massé" located near Nièvre, in the Morvan region, Burgundy, France. The bowl measures 38.5 cm in diameter and 8.5 cm in height.
