This is a rare early 19th-century Indian colonial sterling silver large Georgian antique pepper pot by Twentyman & Co. (1818-1829). Cylindrical form on a pedestal. A domed pull-off lid. Reeded borders to the pot and the lid. The interior of the pot and lid retains their original gilding (gold washed). The interior is in clean condition. Engraved Pepper and a monogram. Fully hallmarked. It is a large and heavy gauge pepper pot, weighing a hefty 164g. The base is not weighted. Hallmarks: Calcutta, Silver fineness 925, Maker Twentyman & Co.
