Description
This is a handsome large pine chest which dates to the early half of the 20th century.
It could serve a variety of purposes in any room, offering masses of storage space for all sorts of things.
The chest is extremely heavy and solid, a well made piece that was designed for use as a packing crate on long sea voyages.
Made from panels of thick pine it has a large lift up lid which opens to reveal a clean interior fitted with a later fabric stay.
To either end there is a black metal carrying handle.
I have hand painted the chest is black paint before painting a decorative star to the front.
The paintwork has been heavily distressed and then glazed for an aged look.
