Large Pair of Japanese Lamps c.1900

This is a charming pair of large Oriental painted metal lamps, Japanese we believe, with beautifully detailed lacquered decorations of a hen with chick and a cockerel etc. We think these super lamps may have originally started life as vases and have been converted to lamps but this has been done extremely well and as one would expect, they have marks / scuffs / dings , surface crackles to the paint in places etc but overall are good decorative pieces and have been professionally checked over and rewired to comply with current standards.
