Description
We are delighted to offer this collectable solid silver Georgian straining spoon made by silversmith William, Charles & Henry Eley in London, 1824.
The spoons handle is engraved with the crest of John Jeffreys Pratt, 1st Marquess Camden and The 2nd Earl of Camden (1759-1840).
The motto around the crest reads as follows: "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" meaning "shame be whoever things bad/evil of it" which symbolises the Order of the Garter, an ancient order of knighthood of which the Queen is Sovereign.
The straining spoon is made with a very thick gauge of silver with a heavy and solid feel upon holding in hand.
The spoon is fully hallmarked on the reverse side of the spoon with clear hallmarks.
A wonderful piece of collectable Georgian silverware with Nobility interest with the crest of the 2nd Earl of Camden.
