Large Wucai Dragon & Phoenix Charger, Kangxi Mark, 20th‑century Jingdezhen, 45 cm

Impressive Chinese porcelain charger decorated in vibrant wucai / famille verte enamels, featuring a writhing green dragon and colourful phoenix amongst scrolling peony. The classic pairing of dragon and phoenix symbolises the Emperor and Empress, harmony and prosperity, while peonies represent wealth and honour. The broad rim is moulded with gentle lobes and painted with alternating floral panels on a rich cobalt‑blue ground, framed by a foliate scroll border. The reverse bears three peony sprays and a neatly written six‑character Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi reign mark within double concentric circles.
