Late 17th / Early 18th Century Settle
Secure Payments By
A late 17th - early 18th century oak settle with a rope hung seat and a hand stitched horse hair stuffed cushion. The settle has a quadruple panelled back with a molded rail at the top and a pair of finials. The swept arms sit upon turned baluster supports which run down through the leg. The settle has had some minor restorations and does have a historical loss of the front stretcher, however it still remains structurally solid. The underside of the cushion does require re backing as the fabric backing has ripped and worn from rubbing against the ropes. The settle has developed a lovely rich colour and patination to the oak and is in very good condition for its age. Seat height 40cm x Width 172cm x Depth 47cm
