Late 18th Century Chinoiserie Design Longcase Clock

Beautiful Well Presented Chinoiserie Design Black Lacquered and Gilt Painted English Grandfather Longcase Clock with Good Clean Painted Dial with A Blue Jay Bird for J Crake of Surlingham. During the Early 19th Century the Crake Family Produced Several Clockmakers around Loddon (Norwich), Lowestoft and Ipswich areas. I have owned a number of these in the past and they have always been of High Quality. This includes Brass Covered Lead Weights with this Clock (Photo of Weights to be added before the end of July) Surlingham is just a few miles away from Loddon Norwich Norfolk and this may have been one of the early Crake family clocks. There are two J Crakes but these date from 1836 and 1858, which would seem too late for the design and construction of the case and size, style of the Painted Dial. The Elegant 18th Century Case is in Good Sound Construction as is the Black Lacquer & Gilt Decorations.
