Description
This is a good late Victorian gilt and gesso frame with its original gilding and attractive deep gilt inner slip dating from around 1900.
The frame is a a useful size measuring 65cm by 45cm overall. The aperture is 46.5cm by 25.5cm. The opening at the back to receive the painting is 48.5cm by 28cm.
It would be possible to use this without the large slip which would enable an apperture of 57.5cm by 37cm with the opening at the back becoming 50.5cm by 38.5cm.
