Description
A good Liverpool porcelain press moulded sauce boat by John & Jane Pennington, c.1770, with double scrolled handle, reeded, shaped rim ad set on a mounded pedestal foot. Decorated in chinoiserie style with the Large Exotic Bird pattern on one side, and a smaller image of a house with fenced garden, and barley ear border to the inside of the rim.
Reference: Liverpool Porcelain by Bernard Watney, figure 336 shows a very similar example.

It measures 17.5cm (6 7/8") long, 9.5cm (3 3/4") wide and 11.8cm (4 5/8") high.

The Fancy Fox has clarified that the Liverpool Pennington Porcelain Large Exotic Bird Pattern Sauce Boat c.1770 (LA542986) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1770
condition
Condition is excellent. There is a tiny chip under the foot and a small firing line within the foot rim. No other damage, repair or restoration and very minor handling wear.
