Magnificent Elkington Early Victorian Silver Plated Centre Piece

A magnificent Victorian silver plated centre piece by the great Elkngton & Co. This spectacular example is fully cast in three sections and features interwoven fruiting vine branches, with tendrils and grapes among the leaves. The tripod base has a central column and extends into three acanthus stylized feet. It is crowned by a superb cut and frosted dish, with a petal rim. Few items typify the Victorian era more than these grand centre pieces and this would have been the crowing decoration on a dining or side table. A stunning and eye catching piece in superb condition.
