Magnificent French Gilt Bronze Mantle Clock

This is a magnificent large 19th Century (c.1870) French antique gilt bronze and porcelain mantel clock. The domed top surmounted by a cherub on a small platform with foliate castings trailing down each side. The circular dial painted with a flying winged cherub, beneath this a large painted panel with more cherubs, the sides with painted panels, too. The base with foliate casting and a concave section, scrolling rococo patterns on the side, resting on cast feet, the 8-day movement striking on the half hour and hour.
