Mahogany Chippendale Style Chest on Chest c.1900

A charming Edwardian period mahogany chest on chest, or tallboy. Of very good construction in solid mahogany with flame mahogany veneers, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. The top section section has a series of 2 short over 3 long graduated drawers and is topped with a cornice embellished with dentil moldings. The base section has an arrangement of 3 long graduated drawers sitting beneath a pull-out brushing slide. All drawers are fitted with their original solid brass hardware. The top section has canted corners which are decorated with blind fret-work detailing. The whole piece stands on solid bracket feet.
