Mahogany Striking Bracket Clock – Robert Wood – London

An 8-day twin fusee striking movement consisting of five pillars, with anchor escapement striking the hours to a bell via a rack and snail striking system, which can also be silenced. There is also a repeating function. The inverted bell top case is magnificent in its style and construction and uses the finest flame mahogany veneers. The gilded mounts are of excellent quality, and five pineapple-shaped finials surmount the top of the case. The sides of the case are glazed with carrying handles above. The rear door is also glazed. The engraved brass and porcelain break arch dial with subsidiary strike/silent dial in the break arch, consisting of Roman numerals and signed ‘Robert Wood London’, finished with the original finely cut gilded brass hands.
