Made in Staffordshire around 1891–1910, this octagonal “panel” jug features transfer‑printed landscapes of Chinese figures in fenced gardens, each panel richly hand‑coloured in enamels on a deep rust fish‑scale ground. The scalloped rim, dragon‑mask spout and angular handle add real sculptural presence, while the interior border bursts with flowers on a yellow ground. Marked to the base “MASON’S / PATENT IRONSTONE / CHINA / ENGLAND” with hand‑painted pattern numbers, confirming Ashworth‑period production for the export market.
