Met. Office Barometer by J Hicks, England c.1920

This is a Met Office station barometer, reference 3241 probably dating from the early 1920s. Made by the highly respected manufacturers, J Hicks. the instrument reads millibars & inches on the engraved dial. Still working correctly, the barometer is set into a solid brass case with bevelled glass over the dial. Hicks were based at 8, 9 & 10 Hatton Garden in offices they had built for themselves in the late 19th Century. The distinctive buildings are still there today.
