Original collection of ordnance survey manuscripts & printed documents. Concerning the preparation of a new edition of the ordnance survey & covering the northumberland / newcastle on tyne & boundaries from 1854-55 This is a large collection of original items from the 1850's relating to a survey for the north east of england & consists of approx nine hand written letters & envelopes & approx 25 printed documents with a majority of the documents having detailed hand written notes to the rear of each sheet. An interesting collection from 19th century giving an excellent insight into early map preparation
