Outstanding French Empire Mantel Clock – Solid Bronze Ormolu Mantle Clock C1830 Outstanding Quality French Mantel Clock Fine solid bronze case Fine decoration well carved Lady Figure sitting with her dog Ormolu dial with Black Roman numerals Black Empire steel hands Front wind Original finish to the case Carved bracket feet French bell striking movement Silk suspension movement Signed dial and movement Working order – recently fully serviced This clock dates to around 1830 Measures 49cm high by 36cm wide and 16cm depth. This clock is a open bezel would have started life under glass dome. Through the clocks long history a past owner has had 2 very nice bevelled glass bezels made to cover the dial and the movement. These are very well made and being sold with the clock In excellent antique condition. The highly delicate Boulle marquetry is remarkably well-preserved. The original ormolu mounts retain their brilliant, deep golden luster with superb sharpness in the chasing. The movement has been fully serviced, running smoothly and striking in perfect synchronization. Complete with its original/correct pendulum and winding key.
